Based in Los Angeles, Grant Ching is one of the only water-boxing teachers in the United States. He trained in water boxing and Xingyi Chuan (as well as Bak Mei Kuen, Lung Ying Kuen, and Hung Gar Kuen) under Sifu Paul Roberts. Under other instructors, he trained in Hung Gar, Hakka unicorn, and escrima. He has also had exposure to krav maga, tai chi, and judo.
